thods, but the issue of moral theory within them has not been explicitly il
luminated. The purpose of this contribution thus consists of the following
building blocks and steps. First of all, it briefly introduces and explains
what we mean by and how we can understand ethical education. This is
followed by a reflection on approaches to it. In the next step, the field of
moral theory is briefly depicted, and in the concluding part, the role of
moral theory in ethical education is synthetically illuminated. The im
portance of moral theory is explained in relation to issues related to mo
ral dilemmas and the use of thought experiments in the context of ethi
cal education.
Key words: ethical education, moral theory, metaethics, moral intuition,
integrative approach.

Moralna vzgoja, hipokrizija in samoprevara

Zaradi pluralizma in umanjkanja konsenza glede moralnih vrednot se je
moralna vzgoja v postindustrijskih družbah obrnila proč od preproste re
produkcije in internalizacije predpostavljenih družbenih norm h kon
strukciji avtonomnega, kritično mislečega subjekta z osebno svobodo.
Toda nekatere študije s področja socialne psihologije in filozofije kažejo,
tno zavedal.
standardov.

Moral Education, Hypocrisy and Self-Deception

Due to pluralism and lack of general consensus regarding moral values
contemporary moral education in postindustrial societies turned away
from simple reproduction and internalization of pre-established social
norms to a construction of an autonomous critical subject with individu
al freedom. However, some studies from social psychology and contem
porary philosophy indicate that subconscious cognitive phenomena such
as moral hypocrisy and self-deception largely influence our moral judge
