Marija Ropič Kop is employed as an assistant professor of special didactics
(with a focus on Slovene language and literature) at the Faculty of Educa-
tion, University of Maribor. Her work centres on initial literacy during the
preschool years, literacy development in primary school pupils, and both
reading and writing skills. Recently, she has been researching voice aware-
ness in the preschool period and the first grade, as well as students’ prior
knowledge of reading and writing before systematic literacy instruction.
She has also studied correlations and regressions between initial and final
sounds in words, word reading in the first grade, and reading non-fiction
texts in the third grade, among other topics.
Manja Veldin je psihologinja in raziskovalka na Pedagoškem inštitutu v
Ljubljani. Sodelovala je s Centrom za psihodiagnostična sredstva, Sveto-
valnico Kameleon, pri različnih raziskavah (Kvaliteta življenja bolnikov po
presaditvi ledvice; Pojasnjevanje učinkovitosti reševanja problemov s pod-
ročja trojne narave predstavitev naravoslovnih pojmov; Pozitivni razvoj
mladih v Sloveniji), EU-projektih (ROKA v ROKI, BRAVEdu, ETTECEC,
HEAD, DITEAM:12, NEMO, AI4T) in vodila evalvacijo nacionalnega pro-
jekta (Inovativna učna okolja podprta z inovativno pedagogiko 1 : 1). Trenu-
tno sodeluje pri več projektih (EU: HAND: ET, me_HeLi-D; SLO: Učinki
pandemije COVID-19 na šolanje, učitelje in učence: Dobro počutje/blagos-
tanje, poučevanje in učenje) in je doktorska kandidatka eksperimentalne
psihologije.
Manja Veldin is a psychologist and researcher at the Educational Research
Institute in Ljubljana. She has collaborated with the Center for Psychodia-
gnostic Assessment and Counselling Center Chameleon, and has partici-
pated in various studies (Quality of Life of Patients after Kidney Transplan-
tation; Explaining Effective and Efficient Problem Solving of Triplet
Relationships in Science Concept Representations; Effects of Developing
Emotional Competencies on Psychological Functioning during the Pan-
demic; Positive Development of Youth in Slovenia). She has also been in-
volved in several EU projects (HAND in HAND, BRAVEdu, ETTECEC,
HEAD, DITEAM:12, NEMO, AI4T) and led the evaluation of a national
project (Innovative Learning Environments Supported by Innovative Pe-
dagogy 1:1). Currently, she is engaged in multiple projects (EU: HAND:
ET, me_HeLi-D; SLO: Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Schooling,
