4.2 Participation in School
Table 20 shows the relationship between the composite variable of partici-
pation in school (S_SCHPART) and the SES of a student in Slovenia, Cro-
atia, and Italy.

In Slovenia, the coefficient for the relationship between participation
in school and SES is 1.83 with a t-value of 11,37, indicating that there is a sta-
tistically significant positive relationship between ICCS students’ SES and
civic participation in school. Similar can be observed in Italy and Croatia.
Although the relationships are a bit weaker, with t-values of 3.84 in Croatia
and 4.23 in Italy, they are still statistically significant.
Table 21 (below) shows the relationship between SES and different
forms of civic and citizenship participation in school for ICCS students in
Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy. The table includes six types of school activi-
ties that the students could participate in, and the coefficients represent the
change in the dependent variable (participation in school) associated with
a one-unit increase in the independent variable (SES).
