Tina Pivec currently works as a young researcher at the Educational Research
Institute. Her research interest lies in the field of educational and devel-
opmental psychology (bullying, Positive Youth Development). In her PhD
studies, her doctoral dissertation has a focus on positive youth develop-
ment and bullying behaviour among adolescents in the transition from pri-
mary school to high school. She is actively involved in the international re-
search project Positive Youth Development Across Cultures (led by Nora
Wiium, University of Bergen).
Katja Košir, PhD in Psychology, is a lecturer at the Department of Psychology,
Faculty of Arts at the University of Maribor. She works with future teach-
ers, psychologists and (inclusive) pedagogues; in addition, she participates
in the teacher education training programme (PAI). Her research interests
mainly focus on the non-cognitive factors of academic performance, espe-
cially social relations, i.e. peer relations and student–teacher relations and
their role in students’ academic performance and assessment. She is head
of the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the Faculty of Arts, University of
Maribor. As an implementer of various trainings for professionals in the
field of education, she strives to transfer scientific findings into practice and
through co-operation to effectively integrate the academic community and
educational institutions. She is an associate editor of the scientific journal
Horizons of Psychology.
Polona Gradišek, PhD in Psychology, works at the Faculty of Education at
the University of Ljubljana. She teaches future preschool education teach-
ers, primary education teachers, special and rehabilitation teachers and so-
cial pedagogues. Her work encompasses the fields of educational psychol-
ogy and positive psychology. She is enthusiastic about positive education
and in her research focuses on the character strengths of future teachers
and teachers, their professional development and the well-being of both
teachers and students. She emphasises the importance of positive teach-
er–student relationships. She is Slovenia’s representative in the European
Network for Positive Psychology and a member of the editorial team of the
Journal of Positive School Psychology.   
Ana Mlekuž holds a BA in Political Science (International Relations) and
an MSc in Economic Science (Financial Literacy). She is a PhD candi-
date at the Faculty of Education in Maribor (field of study: Leadership in
