– School preparatory phase (kindergarten): In this step of the prepa-
ration, children must be prepared for social life and with creat-
ing a positive self-image, complex personal development must be
forced. With various, motivating learning methods, positive atti-
tudes toward learning can be based in this age too.
– Primary school lower grades of high school: In this step of public
education, pupils gain standard knowledge, and according to sta-
tistics, learning motivation in this age can influence strongly fur-
ther studies of the individual.
– High school education: This is the last step of the preparing phase
of lifelong learning, where career orientation becomes a priority
in children’s life. In this age, students can be qualified for the la-
bour market and also for further studies.

The concept of lifelong learning is included in the training plan of all
training institutions as well. Associated with this, some elements of this ap-
proach and the concept itself can be found in the documents of the teach-
er training as well. The Training and Output Requirements sets out the
directions that the curricula and training units of each higher education
institution must clearly stand for (KKK, 2016). These requirements indicate
the preparation for lifelong learning among the competencies that must
be trained in kindergarten teacher education as well. It is not a question,
therefore, that kindergarten teachers should have the attitudes to support
children in lifelong learning, but it is a cornerstone of efficiency, how higher
educational institutions prepare prospective teachers for this task.
The role of kindergarten and primary school in lifelong learning
Since formal education is especially important in lifelong learning process,
the role of the teacher is also significant in preparing children for this. As a
